It's finally here. Today's the day. The big football game (well, one of them, anyway). Tonight we play TCU, who is the only other undefeated team in our conference. Plus, since we are undefeated, an eventual BCS game is on the line. We are currently ranked 8th in the BCS standings and TCU is 12th. I talked a bit about the whole Blackout thing at the end of this post. Basically the team has all black uniforms and the fans will be wearing black (instead of our usual red). Frankly I'm a little nervous about this game. Sure our team is good, but I don't have complete confidence in our quarterback- and TCU is really good.
But it should make for an interesting game. That and it's going to be cold as a frozen-over hell. This morning it was 26 degrees when I left for work!! Aaaah! Right now it's 43, but when the sun goes down- yikes, I don't even want to think about it. Luckily I am prepared for the cold. I brought my thermal underwear, wool socks, my ski pants (not that I ski, but I have waterproof pants that are perfect for cold-weather football games and sledding), a fleece vest, ski gloves (see above parenthetical reference), my "cat" beanie, a scarf, and my down jacket (with faux fur-lined hood). All of this of course is black. We also have stadium chairs that will provide some protection from the frosty metal bleachers. The Hubs even has hand-warmers because his fingers are extra-sensitive.
I don't think we will be painting our faces black, but I'm taking the paint just in case. I will also have the camera, so you know I'll be taking lots of photos to share with you. I am totally excited, but I'm also a sore loser so we'd better not lose. I can't guarantee that I will have a voice tomorrow (due to screaming and cheering), but for blogging that doesn't really matter anyway, does it? The main reason why I really want to beat TCU is because they beat BYU, so if we win, it will be great bragging rights, especially when we have the actual Big Game the weekend before Thanksgiving (BYU vs. Utah).
Well, I've been freezing all day at work, so I'm going to drink some hot water or something before I head out into the cold, cruel world (you think I'm kidding, don't you?). Oh, and just for confession's sake, I fell victim to a rice krispy treat shaped like Mickey Mouse today (dang those hotel visitors!!) But I did have a great high-intensity elliptical workout last night!

Have fun at the game.
Lots of luck to you and your team!
I guess I'm used to being with the losing team. Hopefully, you won't have the chance to be a sore loser! I'll be rootin for ya!
Sooooooo who won? I know that I could go online and look but I prefer your game recap. ;-)
Sounds like you had enough warm stuff and considering how cold it sounds you were prepared.
That Rice Crispie treat sounds yummmmmm
Good luck to your team!
It could have been worse, a rice krispie treat isn't so bad.
You're waaaay tougher than I am. All football games not in 70 degree weather get watched from my comfy couch. What a super fan.
Nuthin wrong with a rice krispy treat now and then! ;-)
I love your football enthusiasm!
I think that cold stuff you are talking about is coming towards me this weekend....brrrrr....
Yep MN winter is upon us! Enjoy the weekend!
I *SO* do not miss living in a snow-prone area. I hope you were able to wear enough layers! I'm freezing just thinking about it!
