The Headless Horseman
Random Photo (Video) of the Week

My intention was to post this yesterday, however my husband was hogging the computer. How I curse thee, EverCrack (err, EverQuest- whatever)!! Yesterday was supposed to be game night with the boys, which usually means that the Hubs and all of his peeps gather at his office and play D&D (yes my husband is a nerd, but he is so cute- plus I'm a bigger nerd than he is... have I mentioned that I took Organic Chemistry my senior year of college, as an art history major, just because I wanted to- yep, certifiable NERD). Anyway, I went to dinner with a bunch of people from work, since the VP was in town, and figured I could blog when I got home, since the Hubs usually doesn't come home until about 10 pm. Well, unfortunately, most of the other guys were busy, so it was just the Hubs and his brother. They ended up going to see a movie, then he came home- and immediately got on the computer to play EQ. Fifteen minutes later, I roll in, and my hopes were dashed.

So instead, I read a book, then went to bed early (with a belly full of Mexican food- ugh, too many chips and salsa). Anyway, the video below is one that I took last Friday on my way to the baseball game. As you can see, I was driving- well, not while I was taking the video- I was stopped at a red light. I wish I would have filmed a little longer, but the cars kept creeping forward, and I was worried the light was going to change at any second. But I was just happy that I had my camera, and I actually shot the video so that I could show the Hubs when I got to the game. As you can see, there is a headless horseman, in front of a sweet full moon, and a building that's decked out to look like a castle. I know, you're probably all thinking WTH?

Well, this is a local haunted house, and apparently they are gearing up for the season (which will be here before we know it). If you look closely, you can see a guy on the scaffolding behind it, and I guess they were just testing it out (I drove by today, and it wasn't moving). I thought it was hilarious, so I whipped my camera out of my purse and started filming. And it was so random, I figured, what better place to share it. Don't you love the horse noises? Ha ha! Oh, and this is actually the same haunted house where the Hubs took me on our second date (when he used the coupon- he he).

Okay, now for the short version of recapping everything else (so that this isn't like a novel- like every other post of mine). I didn't run yesterday, but I did do some strength training. I had a good run today, but haven't done my abs yet. Promise I'll do it tonight- after the soccer game. Yep, the Hubs and I have free tickets once again, up in the suite (which of course means catered Famous Dave's- good for my taste buds, sooo bad for my thighs). Tomorrow we are going to (hopefully) go look at the pups, and maybe make it to the waterpark, and then look for a new oven (but not in that order). I am debating what to do about running, since I'm supposed to do the Nike+ 10k on Sunday, and normally Sunday is my rest day, so I wanted to cheat and do it tomorrow, even though it's a day early. But I am about 7 miles shy of my August mileage goal, so I could tack on an extra mile to my 10k, or run both days. Crap, I don't know. I'll figure something out.

Sunday afternoon, we are heading up to Heber City to stay overnight, then on Monday we're heading over to Soldier Hollow for the Sheepdog Championship and Country Festival (anyone seen the movie Babe?). Yes, it's totally random, but it sounds like fun, and we love animals, so I figured it would be a nice getaway. The only bad thing is, the weather is supposed to be really crappy. It goes from 85 and sunny today, to 97 and sunny tomorrow, to 50's or 60's and rainy on Monday- what the? Oh well, we'll just bundle up and enjoy some great dog fun. Wow, what a busy weekend. I'll need a vacation afterward to recover! That, and due to the hurricane, we've been swamped here at work (natural disasters always generate mass call volume to hotel reservation centers). Luckily, I don't have to take calls, but I support the staff that takes all the calls, and it has been crazy around here. I can't wait to leave!!

One last thing is that with my run this morning, I have run over 200 miles since I started using my Nike+ at the end of May. Yippee for me! I'm a "total champ", LOL. Have a good weekend, everyone!!

Viv- I know, gotta love a guy who's not afraid to use a coupon early on in a relationship! Ha ha.

Miz- Thanks! Your support is appreciated. And you do have hidden talents- it's a scientific fact!
